ChatGPT can be a valuable tool in your course creation journey. Let’s explore some of the ChatGPT prompts for course creators!
Listen to this instead:
I used to be an AI-sceptic until I figured out how to use these tools for good and that’s what we’re here to chat about.
Let’s start with a disclaimer:
I’m all about creating AUTHENTIC content that is coming from YOU, especially when it comes to creating a truly transformative online course.
However, there are plenty of great ways to use AI tools to help you in the process and that’s what this post is all about.
P.S. We also have a Masterclass all about that inside the Membership!
Keep in mind before using ChatGPT for course creation
Never fully rely on ChatGPT or any other AI tool as your key content generator, without adding in your voice, your experience, your specific perspective.
Yes, it can give you great ideas but especially if you’re working on a paid offer, it’s important to stay authentic and provide YOUR guidance.
Anyone can go into ChatGPT and ask for answers…
You want to make sure that your course provides personalized and valuable insights.
How to receive valuable answers from ChatGPT?
Be specific in your needs, explain the vision, talk all about your ideal audience, etc. Way too often creators go into ChatGPT or any other AI tool with the most basic prompts like “create a course outline about nutrition”. It provides no real value and there isn’t any personalization within this answer. Instead, think about describing who you are, what you do, who you work with and your ideal audience, talk about the vision for the offer. THEN ask the ChatGPT to provide a curriculum idea.
The more you use any of the AI tools, the more it knows and understands your business. This one is THE gamechanger. Blunt and basic requests will receive blunt and basic answers. Related to the previous suggestion – be specific and feed the AI with the information. Use the type of words you use in your marketing, describe your business and vision in a meaningful way.
Advise it, give feedback and revamp the answers. The deeper you go into one idea, the more diverse and specific solutions you can receive. Don’t just leave the answer as it is. Ask for follow-up edits, based on your specific vision.
ChatGPT prompts for course creators
How to use an AI tool to your advantage when creating an online course?
You can use ChatGPT in either of the phases of your course creation journey.
First of all, recognize where you might need that additional support and creativity. Are you just getting started and just need your creative juices flowing? Maybe you’ve already done some work and can’t get unstuck… Whatever it is, start there!
Remember: no matter what you’re asking for, always EVALUATE the answer and see if it actually fits you and your direction. Sometimes using ChatGPT can be a great way to see exactly what you DON’T want…
Now, let’s look into some ChatGPT prompts for course creators!
Consider the following situations:
Generate new ideas, open up to new offer variations, brainstorm
As you’re just getting started with your course creation journey, you may find yourself either having too many ideas all at once or the opposite – lacking ideas of any real value.
Here are some ideas how to use ChatGPT in your course preparation process:
- Ask for topic ideas to cover in your course. Either you already know the direction or are open to exploring – this is a great place to start! But make sure to evaluate if the provided ideas sit well with your overall vision.
- Prompt it to create a curriculum based on your existing ideas or vision. If you already have some starting material, giving ChatGPT some topics to work with can be a great base for it to create a course curriculum – or the very first steps of it – for you.
- Ask to clarify an ideal audience who would benefit from the offer you want to create. If you already have a specific idea but you’re unsure how to position your offer, asking ChatGPT for ideas regarding your ideal audience can be a great dose of inspiration.
Organize your ideas – make it make sense!
If you have a list of ideas or existing content to work with and you want to turn it into online course, ask ChatGPT to organize the topics you have at hand.
Following the previous suggestions, give it as much information about your ideal offer as possible and provide the list of content ideas you’d like to include. Then see what it comes up with!
This can create an outline for the whole course or specific topics to include in a lesson.
Remember to play around with the variations – you don’t have to ask for course specific content!
Get ready for the launch
Figuring out what emails to write or what type of content to post can be a time-consuming challenge to deal with. Ask ChatGPT for some support!
- Describe your course idea and ideal audience and ask for the launch email list. This can give you a base list of topics to cover in your course launch.
- Outline each of those emails with more specific prompts, referencing the language you use in your promotional materials.
- Ask for a list of relevant IG Stories you could create and the key info to include. You can also expand this prompt and ask for questions to cover within each of the Stories!
Ask for feedback and potential updates for your ideas, page copy, emails
This is one of my favorite ChatGPT prompts for online course creators.
As you have wrapped up the course creation and setup process, ask ChatGPT for the potential updates.
This can work especially well when it comes to copy, for example, the sales page of your online course.
While the feedback won’t always provide you the level of a professional’s attention, it can bring new ideas and help you to get your setup to the finish line.
